Marineland K2 Biological Media Aquarium Filter is designed with a large surface area to help cultivate beneficial bacteria. The beneficial bacteria then work to break down waste to create healthier, cleaner water. This media is designed to fit Marineland Penguin and Emperor Pro Filter media baskets as well as most external and canister filters (each sold separately). To use, simply place in your media basket or canister media tray until 2/3 full to leave room for the bio-media to circulate. Best of all, it does not need to be replaced—if the media gets clogged with debris, simply rinse with room-temperature tap water treated with a dechlorinator.
